How Can You Stay Fit While Traveling for Business

How can you stay fit while travelling for business
For business owners work life balance is of paramount importance. With the amount of work they have it is easy for small business owners to ignore their own fitness. After all, who can afford to spend time on workout when you can sign one more customer account. This could be dangerous not only to your health, but also to your business’ financial health.

Imagine this scenario. You are going away on business. You’ve got all the clothes you need. You are bringing your tablet. You’ve got all your business papers in order. You are just missing one thing: your fitness plan. Just because you’ll be away on business doesn’t mean you can’t still work out. Most resorts and even smaller hotels have workout or fitness rooms these days. Here’s how to stay in shape, regardless of whether you’re flying half-way around the country or just taking a short trip out of town.

Download Some Workout Videos

If you can watch videos online, that’s great. The BodyRock series is excellent and should keep you really motivated. But, if you don’t know whether you’ll be able to get Internet access in your room, then you’ll want to download some copyright-free workout videos using a program like YTD at http://www.youtubedownloadersite.com. That way, you can view them on your mobile device or tablet without having to worry about whether or not you have access to Wi-Fi.  Alternatively, you can make your own workout videos and take them with you.

Bring Some Equipment

If you’re into Yoga, bring a Yoga mat or something equivalent. That way, you will have something to do your workout on anywhere you wish. Also, bring along comfortable clothes – those that are lightweight, stretch, and are not restrictive. Opt for a comfortable shirt instead of those skin-tight workout suits.

A resistance band is another good piece of equipment that will provide good resistance without having to pack heavy dumbbells.

Do Basic Exercises

Squats, lunges, chinups and pullups, and pushups – they seem simple enough, but these bodyweight exercises will really challenge you. Go for 3 sets of 10. If that’s too easy, up the repetitions to 20, then 30, then 40 and 50.

The important thing to remember with bodyweight exercise is that you’re not subjecting your body to a lot of resistance – only your own bodyweight. But, if you’re only going to be away for a short time, it’ll help you preserve your fitness without having to pack anything.

Make Use of the Free-Weights

Free weights can usually be found in most gyms in the resorts and higher-end hotels. Even if all you have available are dumbbells, you can still get pretty good exercise doing bench press, dumbbell squats and deadlifts, and overhead press.

You only need a good workout 2 to 3 times a week to stay in shape. It’s all about finding 30 minute time slot in your daily schedule to take care of yourself.
