4 Fun Activities for Team Building

Every business owner, regardless of how big their company, knows that a team that pulls together and enjoys working with each other is essential for the company to move forward and meet their goals. Many businesses engage in team building, whether it be days out or activities within the office, to get everybody singing from the same sheet, and these can prove to be incredibly effective.

Here are four examples of great activities that your small business can use to help boost morale in the office and get your team working better together:

  1. Performance-Based Team Incentives

One way to get your team working well together is to put into place performance-based incentives that are based on the team achieving rewards, rather than just the individuals, which can create animosity and resentment in the team. You could set a variety of monthly goals with incentives for each one, with the biggest one being a day or night out at the company’s expense. Not only will it get the team working harder together, but there will be a larger sense of camaraderie at the end of the month when they hit those targets and are enjoying that incentive together.

  1. Game Nights

Whether it’s a game of poker, a video game competition or a visit to an online casino like the ones that Unibet have established, game nights are a superb way of getting the team together for a bit of fun, and you don’t have to leave the office to do it. You can plan to have a game night on a Friday night to wind down and have some exciting fun after a tough week or wait until the end of the month to do it. Either way, it’s a great team-building exercise, complete with a bit of friendly competition and the chance to pocket a bit of extra cash too if you’re lucky.

  1. Movie and Pizza Nights

How many times have you finished a day at work and all you want to do is go home, crash on the sofa, order a pizza and watch a movie? There’s nothing quite like it, and there’s no reason why business owners can’t reward their employees and inject a little team building into proceedings with a movie and pizza night hosted at the office. All you need is a DVD player, a movie, a projector and a screen, and you’re ready to go. Get those pizzas in and enjoy an evening’s entertainment with your teammates.

  1. Head to a Theme Park

Everybody loves to blow off some steam at a theme park, whether it’s a water park or a theme park with dozens of crazy, terrifying but exhilarating roller coasters and rides. Theme parks are perfect for small business team building days out because it affords you the opportunity to reward your staff for their hard work and enjoy themselves without any emphasis and talk about the office. There’s an added incentive for employees, too: the joy of hearing their boss scream as a super-fast roller coaster does twenty loops in a row. The team will be giggling about that one at the water cooler for weeks to come!
