5 Ways to Use Promotional Products to Boost Your Business

May 10, 2019

If you’re not pushing always to be on the crest of innovation (or, if you’re a Jeff Bezos type, ahead of it), then you’re moving backwards. Your competition has never been as threatening as it is today. One of the most effective methods for getting your branding and business out in the public eye is with the use of promotional products. Where this gets tricky isn’t so much in creating the products as it is in determining how best to get them seen by the world. Below, we cover the top five ways to successfully use promotional products to boost your business.

  1. Bulk Buy Incentives

There are some exceptionally high-quality promotional products available, but there has to be something in it for you to consider buying them. Fortunately, there is. Why not look at bulk buy promotions? If customers buy, for example, two or more of an item, they get something for free. You can sell more product, boost your business, and get your branding out in the public eye.

  1. Company-Sponsored Events

If you’re having plenty of success nationally and internationally but not as much locally, then use events in your home town or city to your advantage. Local sponsorship advertising has an 84 percent success rate as a marketing method. You can hand out promotional products, make new connections, and improve the image of your business. You get to do all this while helping out a local event or group that may need your assistance to thrive.

  1. Arm Your Sales Team

If you have plenty of promotional products to go around, then there’s every reason to use them as an incentive for your sales team to strive for success. Make a freebie something for which they can aim.

For example, if they earn x amount of dollars by a specific date, they could get a company umbrella, camping chair, coffee mug, or something of similar value. You get the benefit of their productivity, and they get items that could be of value in their life. It’s a win-win scenario!

  1. Treat Your Customers

Poor customer service is one of the key reasons why some consumers jump ship, so don’t let it be your ship from which they’re jumping. Along with putting steps in place to improve service and satisfaction levels, you can also sweeten the deal with promotional products.

If you ever feel like a customer might be dissatisfied, come to the rescue by offering them a branded reusable coffee cup. They may see your gesture as a correction of the problem, and you may have just saved them from going to your competitor.

  1. Treat Your Staff

A TimesJobs survey found that eight in ten people are unsatisfied with their job in some way. If you would love job satisfaction in your workplace to be higher than that, why not reward your workers from time to time?

You could treat them to lunch, a paid day off, or a comfortable office chair. Or take it one step further and offer them mutually beneficial branded promotional products. They get something useful and you get the inevitable brand recognition that follows.

Promotional products might seem like something you store in the dark depths of the cupboard when you’re not handing them out at trade shows, but they’re much more. They can be your key to staff and customer satisfaction, and a way in which to win over our local community.

The next time you think about throwing money into newspaper or radio advertising, think again. Branded promotional products could be a far better use of your company funds.
